Last updated: August 5, 2026

This End User License Agreement ("EULA") is a legal agreement between you ("Licensee", "you") and self-IAM ("Licensor", "we", "us") for the self-iam software package and any related source code, documentation, and updates (the "Software"). By downloading, installing, copying, or using the Software, or by accessing the hosted self-IAM service, you agree to be bound by the terms of this EULA.

1. License Grant

Subject to the terms of this EULA, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, copy, modify, and redistribute the Software for personal, academic, and commercial purposes, including incorporation into your own applications, provided that you comply with Section 2.

2. Restrictions

You may not:

  • use the Software to infringe the rights of any third party or any applicable law;
  • represent that you are the author of, or otherwise misrepresent your relationship to, the Software;
  • use the Software to collect credentials or personal data from end users without their informed consent and without a lawful basis;
  • remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, trademark, or license notices in the Software.

3. Open-Source Notice

The Software is made available under the terms of the MIT License as published in the package manifest, unless a different license is stated in a given file. In the event of a conflict between this EULA and the MIT License, this EULA governs your use of the hosted self-IAM service, while the MIT License governs your rights in the source code.

4. Intellectual Property

The Software and all associated intellectual property rights remain the property of self-IAM and its licensors. Nothing in this EULA transfers ownership of any intellectual property to you. The self-IAM name and logo are trademarks of self-IAM and may not be used to endorse or promote products derived from the Software without prior written permission.

5. Hosted Service

Use of the hosted self-IAM API and website is governed separately by the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. The hosted service is provided on a best-efforts basis and is not part of the Software licensed under this EULA.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. THE ENTIRE RISK ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR PERFORMANCE OF THE SOFTWARE REMAINS WITH YOU.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CENTRAL-IAM OR ITS CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR DATA USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THIS EULA OR THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

8. Termination

This EULA is effective until terminated. It terminates automatically if you breach any of its terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies. Sections 3, 4, 6, 7, and 10 survive termination.

9. Changes to This EULA

We may update this EULA from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the Software after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised EULA.

10. Governing Law
